You’re ready to move on from eharmony. Whether you’re in a relationship now or taking a break from dating, you likely want to save money by ending the monthly subscription charge that’s automatically taken from your bank account.

Just like ending a relationship, ending your subscription can be hard – but it’s not impossible. When it comes time to sever ties, follow these steps on how to cancel eharmony.

Ways To Cancel Your eharmony Subscription

Whether it’s eharmony or any other app that charges a monthly subscription, if you’re trying to cut spending it’s crucial that you take direct action to cancel unwanted or underutilized apps as soon as possible.

Keep in mind that these companies make it difficult to unsubscribe, but it’s not impossible if you’re persistent, know the steps to follow, and continue to follow-up until you’re certain the monthly charges have dropped from your bank account for good.

In the case of eharmony, you must unsubscribe from the same location that you signed up—whether it’s online from the eharmony website or through an app store such as Apple or Google Play.

Also, note that if you want to delete your account completely it is a two-step process:

First: Cancel your subscription. This ensures that you’re no longer charged for full membership. However, your account that includes your profile, matches and other information still remains on the website, even if you’ve kept it hidden and inactive. If you ever decide to rejoin eharmony, you can reactivate your account and all of your information is still there.

Second: Cancel your account. This wipes your profile and all your information for good.

Let’s walk through the steps to take to unsubscribe from eharmony from their website, from the Apple App Store and from Google Play each individually.

Unsubscribe from eharmony’s Website

If you signed up for eharmony via their website online, that is where you should go to unsubscribe through the following steps:

  1. Login to your eharmony account
  2. Click on the drop down menu to the right of your profile icon
  3. Select “Data & settings”
  4. Click “Amend Subscription”
  5. Type your password
  6. Read the cancelation terms and click the link at the bottom of the page
  7. Follow the prompts on the cancelation page, if any

Keep in mind that this action only stops the automatic monthly subscription payment once it’s run its full term. If you have any remaining payments, you will be charged for those payments.

Unsubscribe from the Apple App Store

If you signed up for eharmony by downloading the app from the Apple App Store, to unsubscribe you must also go through Apple and take the following steps:

  1. Open the Apple App Store
  2. Tap the Profile icon in the top right
  3. Tap your account name (your name and email address)
  4. Scroll down and tap “Subscriptions”
  5. Select “eharmony Subscription”
  6. Tap “End Subscription”

Or you can reach out to Apple for further assistance with ending an eharmony subscription that you purchased in their App store.

Note that simply uninstalling the eharmony app will not cancel your subscription. You must go through the steps above.

Unsubscribe from the Google Play Store

If you signed up for eharmony by downloading the app from the Google Play App Store, to unsubscribe you must also go through Google Play and take the following steps:

  1. Open the Google Play app
  2. Open the Profile icon at top right
  3. Tap “Payments and Subscriptions” then “Subscriptions”
  4. Select eharmony
  5. Tap “Cancel Subscription”
  6. Follow the instructions

Note that simply uninstalling the eharmony app will not cancel your subscription. You must go through the steps above.

Financial Apps

A financial management app like Rocket MoneySM not only identifies all of the monthly subscription accounts you’re paying into, it also allows you to cancel any of them without having to go through the service provider at all.

Once you’ve signed up and securely linked your bank accounts and credit cards to the Rocket Money app, the app identifies recurring charges automatically. To remove the eharmony subscription:

  1. Select the “Recurring” tab on the bottom left on mobile and top left on web
  2. Next tap “All” near the top of the screen to see a list of your subscriptions
  3. Select the eharmony subscription by tapping the three dots (…) next to the listing
  4. Select “Cancel Service”

Take control of your subscriptions

Rocket Money instantly finds and tracks your subscriptions. It will even cancel unwanted subscriptions for you at the push of a button.

Can You Pause Your eharmony Subscription?

If you live in the state of New York, you can pause your subscription with the help of the eharmony Customer Care team. Note, however, that if you still have payments due, pausing your membership will not excuse you from making those payments.

What if eharmony Keeps Charging Me?

If you’ve gone through the steps above and cancelled your eharmony subscription (remember, uninstalling the app from your mobile device does not cancel your subscription) and you’re still getting hit with monthly charges, chances are you have remaining months on a multi-month subscription. There may not be much you can do about this, but some people report success with reaching out to eharmony Customer Care.

It will help if you still maintain a free eharmony profile on the website. If you do, go to their website and click on Help. That’ll bring you to the Help Center, where you can opt to contact Customer Care. When you click that option, the website will ask you to log in with your e-mail and password.

Then, send a message or a question to the support team. Make sure you explain your situation in detail so the team can find the best way to help you. Provide them with all the necessary information to speed up the whole process.

How To Verify Your eharmony Subscription Has Been Canceled

To make sure you’re no longer getting hit with a monthly charge from eharmony, keep an eye on the statement for the bank account or credit card you used for that subscription. The next charge would show up 30 days after the last one, so if it’s not there you should be clear.

If it does show up again, it may be because you were in the middle of the last billing cycle when you cancelled. Or, it may be that you had remaining time left on the multimonth plan you signed up for.

The Bottom Line

To unsubscribe from eharmony, start by going to the site where you signed up and follow the instructions provided above. Remember that if you want to delete your eharmony account completely, you’ll have to take that step separately after you unsubscribe.

Since it’s easy now to sign up for multiple subscription apps and services, it’s also easy to lose track and continue to pay for things you no longer use. Download the Rocket Money app today to start easily canceling memberships and saving money.
